Bar Palladio Tablescape

Bar Palladio Tablescape

Bar Palladio was the first stroke of brilliance from dynamic duo Barbara Miolini and Marie-Anne Oudejans; it has Amalfi coast style with Rajasthani flair. What a dream to create a tablescape here. It felt like my blue table linens had come home!
Bar Palladio by Rosanna Falconer

Bar Palladio's cobalt frescoes envisaged by Marie-Anne have long been a mainstay of my moodboard. This bestselling tablecloth was inspired by the blues of this bar, as well as the Chhavi Niwas at City Palace.

White linen napkins were tied with ribbon made from the same block printed fabric as the tablecloth. I used silver as the accent colour with antique candlesticks, fine silver cutlery and glassware finished with a metallic edge. The candles are a nod to the bar's frescoes with hand-painted dahlias climbing up them.

SizeRound 220cm

A blue block-printed tablecloth with dahlias blooming across the cotton fabric. Rosanna was inspired by the cobalt blues of Jaipur's Chhavi Niwas in City Palace and the iconic Bar Palladio. The dark blue is a practical choice but there is still a flourish of fun: the 6 inch ruffle skirt at the hem!

Printed by hand, no two tablecloths are ever quite the same. Block printing is a technique handed down from generation to generation, whether it is the deft, delicate touch required to carve the motifs from teak or pear wood, or the light, exact tap used to stamp onto fabric.

Matching napkins available.

The flowers were grown on our terrace in Jaipur: huge dinner plate dahlias, chrysanthemums, spray roses and bougainvillea. All arranged in bud vases of different heights.

If you love this bar as much as I do, go follow Polo Palladio which opens officially this month at Rajasthan Polo Club.
