This colourful table is pure joy. It was in celebration of my husband's birthday and a welcome home party for my friend Devisha. There's a rainbow of vivid colour in the bows, napkins and centrepiece, grounded by a mint green block printed tablecloth and cushions to match.

Rainbow Birthday in Jaipur
I find I often default to rainbow colour schemes for big celebrations; they are both impactful and fun. I created this tea party in 2019, this birthday lunch in 2020 and this Christmas party in 2021. But this evening was an all-time favourite. I loved the way the mint green linens pared back the saturated colour palette of the flowers.
This theme started the moment I bought this skirt and napkins The PDKF Store next to City Palace. I love the store’s ethos: all proceeds from sales go to the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation, as well as benefiting the talented women of the foundation who make the designs, empowering them and preserving traditional Rajasthani techniques. It's founded by two of the most stylish women I know: Claire De Roo and Gauravi Kumari.
"The floral designs hand embroidered by the women of the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation inspired me to paint the same on the place cards and menus. I could not find the usual taper candles that I love to use in London but I still wanted the colourful height and movement that they give. So I painted candles with floral designs myself. As always, resource challenges result in creativity!"
