A Spring Dinner Party

A Spring Dinner Party

Sometimes you just want to do a kitchen supper, sometimes you want to go all out. This Friday, my friend Alex and I opted for the latter with this girly, romantic table of my linens, peony tulips and ranunculus.

Spring Dinner Party

This was one of those occasions when your friend says "come for dinner" and it escalates quickly! My brilliant friend Alex hosted a group of us for dinner and it in turn became a little London launch of my linens. We went all-out romantic with a mix of two pink floral plates from Maison Margaux, as well as a centrepiece of British spring flowers.

Alex and I made a big mezze platter and smoked salmon blinis to start then did pan fried Chilean bass with black truffle butter and British asparagus (fresh from Skandl Market) for the main course. Then there was a bake-off to finish: my brownies versus a chocolate dessert from Birley Bakery.

The flowers were all British. For the arrangements in the centrepiece, I used cow parsley, hawthorn and mint from the garden with ranunculus and peony tulips grown in Lincolnshire by Smith and Munson.
