Over the years, I have received so many messages asking for my recommendations for Rajasthan, from route planning to the best hotel rooms. I am so excited to be able to introduce you to Wix Squared, with all their wisdom, to help you book your next trip. Dreaming up this itinerary has brought me such joy - it’s given me the opportunity to recall favourite memories, check in with local friends and meet co-founder Alex Wix who shares my passion for India.

It's almost impossible for me to choose highlights from the Pink City. In an ideal world, I'd persuade everyone to move to Jaipur for 6 months like I did! But I truly believe that this itinerary captures the heart of this fascinating city where every sound and sight is more vivid than the day before. Each of the hotels I have chosen hold a special place in my heart: the Raas Rajmahal Palace was where we began our honeymoon and where I took my daughters for 'treat' suppers last winter. Samode Haveli (pictured) is where we returned for Diwali last year. It is also home to the most distinctive, magical suite in which I have ever stayed: room 115 (their sheesh mahal). Finally, Villa Palladio is the hotel that I was desperate to visit the moment it opened last year. I packed three red dresses with this in mind! When I eventually did, a photo from that stay ended up on the cover of Conde Nast Traveller India magazine!

In Jodhpur I really wanted to include both the jaw-dropping splendour of Umaid Bhawan and the modern style of Rohet House. The latter has the warmth of a family home with the flair of interiors by its owners Sidharth and Rashmi Singh, who I was lucky enough to have dinner with when we stayed. The Blue City is definitely an adventure for which you will need a guide - those famed blue facades can be hard to locate!

The Step Well dinner at Rawla Narlai (pictured) still holds the crown for most romantic dinner I've ever experienced. No photo can do justice to the sea of flickering candles as you arrive.

In Udaipur, it's tempting just to make like a Bond couple in Octupussy and not stray far from the famous lake. But I urge you to do so for two reasons: Ganesh Emporium has the most exciting, eclectic curation of furniture, antiques and textiles I have found. They add such flair to any home. The City Palace (pictured) is exquisite too. There are small, jewellery box rooms that beg to be explored. Their colour combinations that are forever on my moodboard: from a coral with floor-to ceiling florals and a chequerboard floor to a candy pink room with frescoed-bordered edged with emerald green.
